USA Rugby’s Training and Education department introduced an Introductory Coaching Course in a 31 March announcement. The offer was designed as an accessible first step for players assisting at training, parents supporting coaches and existing coaches refreshing their knowledge.

The course used a two-hour live Zoom session with guided discussion of the coaching process, principles of play and the application of games and drills. The next announced session was 13 April, priced at $25, with registration through the Learning Center in the RX Portal.

The organiser explicitly distinguished this course from USA Rugby Level 1 coaching certification. Attendance did not award that qualification. The launch therefore broadened access to foundational learning without changing certification requirements. This historical account documents the announced education offer and does not imply that registrations remain open or that the scheduled session’s delivery has been independently confirmed.
