Uzbekistan reached the Women’s Asian Cup quarter-finals with a 4-0 victory over Bangladesh in Perth. Returning to the tournament for the first time in twenty-three years, Uzbekistan earned progression as one of the two strongest third-placed teams.
Diyorakhon Khabibullaeva opened the scoring after a through ball released her into the penalty area. Bangladesh continued to compete, with Ritu Chakma forcing a save and Kohati Kisku having an attempt blocked before the interval.
Uzbekistan exploited space behind Bangladesh’s defence after half-time. Substitute Dildora Nozimova scored twice from close range, while a potential fourth was ruled out following a video review. Kudratova eventually completed the scoring late in the match to secure the decisive margin.
