Vitoria’s late rally opens Challenger Cup second round
Three goals in the closing minute secured a narrow victory over Mouscronnois.

Vitoria defeated Mouscronnois 18–17 on the opening day of the men’s Challenger Cup second round. The Portuguese club scored three consecutive goals in the final fifty-eight seconds, overturning the late advantage held by the Belgian side and securing an important group victory.
Zaibas beat Espoo 21–11, responding to the Finnish club’s opening goal with seven unanswered scores. Vrdoljak and Jonkus each scored four goals for the Lithuanian team, which created a clear advantage early in the match.
Maribor defeated Banja Luka 34–11, with every field player scoring for the Slovenian hosts. Enka beat Carouge 20–7 in Istanbul, including a 5–0 second quarter, as the opening results established the first standings across the qualifying groups.
