Source publication date:
Wales men and Ireland women secured World Cup qualification by winning bronze matches on the final day in Santiago. Wales defeated Poland 2–1, with Gareth Furlong scoring twice, while Ireland beat Japan in a shootout after a scoreless women's match.
Ireland's men's team won the qualifier title by overcoming France 2–1. Gregory Williams scored both goals from penalty corners as Ireland protected its lead despite late French pressure. Chile won the women's final 1–0 against Australia through Antonia Irazoqui's first quarter goal.
The programme also brought seventh place to Switzerland's women with a 2–1 win over Canada, while France defeated Malaysia 3–0 for fifth. Japan's women's fourth place left their qualification dependent on the outcome of the separate Hyderabad tournament.
