Representatives of the twenty teams competing at the men’s T20 World Cup gathered for a captains’ carnival held simultaneously in Mumbai and Colombo. The 5 February programme offered media briefings, cricket challenges and activities with digital creators ahead of the tournament.

India captain Suryakumar Yadav joined the Mumbai group, while Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka attended in Colombo. Oman was represented in Mumbai by Mohammad Nadeem in place of Jatinder Singh. Participants discussed preparations and expectations before dedicated press conferences at both venues.

The co-hosted tournament was scheduled from 7 February to 8 March, comprising fifty-five matches across eight stadiums. The opening programme included Pakistan against the Netherlands in Colombo, West Indies against Scotland in Kolkata and India against the United States in Mumbai.
