The World Rowing Virtual Indoor Championships concluded with athletes racing remotely from homes and clubs on 28 February. The programme awarded titles across different distances and included adaptive competition.
Var Guriardottir Hansen set a women’s one-minute world record of 368 metres, while Thomas Vinther’s 435 metres matched the men’s record. Andrea Panizza won the men’s 1000 metres in 2:38.9 and Adelle Ader took the women’s title in 3:09.4.
Benjamin Reuter won the men’s 5000 metres in 15:39.3, with Lina Belanger taking the women’s event in 18:21.7. Adaptive categories one to seven used one-minute and 1000-metre formats. The championship report distinguishes performances in the finals from marks achieved earlier in the week, avoiding the assumption that every winning time was itself a record.
