Zamalek reached the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 home win over Otoho. The Egyptian side advanced 3-2 on aggregate despite finishing with ten men and striker Seifeddine Jaziri replacing their dismissed goalkeeper for the closing minutes.
Hossam Abdel-Maguid headed in Abdullah El-Said’s corner to open the scoring. Oday Dabbagh quickly added a second after a saved effort, putting Zamalek in a strong position before missed chances allowed Otoho to remain in contention.
Grace Mavungo’s late long-range goal revived the visitors. Mohamed Sobhi was then sent off following an altercation, and Zamalek had exhausted their substitutions. Jaziri took the gloves while his teammates blocked attacks and defended the lead to set up a semi-final against Belouizdad.
