Aichi–Nagoya 2026 Asian Games close with handover to Doha 2030
The 20th Asian Games concluded at Paloma Mizuho Stadium after the official closing ceremony, with the hosting cycle passing to Doha 2030.
The 20th Asian Games concluded in Aichi and Nagoya on 4 October after the closing ceremony at Paloma Mizuho Stadium. The Olympic Council of Asia's official Games page records 4 October as the closing date, while the organising committee's published visitor schedule set the ceremony for 18:00 to approximately 19:30 local time.
Independent reports from Reuters and CNA confirmed that the ceremony took place and formally ended the competition programme that began on 19 September. The closing event celebrated athletes and the host region after a programme spanning numerous venues in Japan; this report does not repeat the earlier final-day governance review or the separately covered MVP awards.
The ceremony also passed the Asian Games hosting cycle to Doha, which will stage the 2030 edition. That handover is the material new stage recorded here. The official event date remains separate from iintroo's publication timestamp, and no ceremony photograph is reproduced because exact republication rights for the available images were not established.
