Hifumi Abe wins fifth world judo title in Baku
Japan's Hifumi Abe threw David Garcia Torne for ippon in the men's 66kg final to claim a fifth senior world title.
Hifumi Abe won the men's 66kg title at the 2026 World Judo Championships in Baku on 5 October, defeating Spain's David Garcia Torne in the final. The International Judo Federation's final classification places Abe first and Garcia Torne second.
Abe finished the final after one minute with seoi-nage for ippon, according to the IJF report. Denis Vieru of Moldova and Takeshi Takeoka of Japan took the bronze medals.
