Korea Republic defeated Japan 1–0 in the Asian Games men’s football final at Toyota Stadium, securing a fourth consecutive gold medal in the competition. The Asian Football Confederation’s official match report identifies Eom Ji-sung as the scorer of the decisive goal in the 61st minute.

The final remained scoreless through the first half before Eom converted the breakthrough after the interval. Japan could not produce an equaliser, leaving Korea Republic to retain the title and extend a championship run spanning four successive editions of the Games.

Reuters independently reported the same score, scorer and fourth straight title, while Yonhap also recorded the final outcome. This report treats the completed final as the underlying development and does not infer player statistics, line-ups or tournament-wide records beyond the verified official account.
