Kumkum Mohod wins historic Asian Games recurve gold and LA28 quota
Seventeen-year-old Kumkum Mohod beat Oh Yejin 6–5 in a shoot-off, becoming India’s first Asian Games recurve women’s individual champion and securing an LA28 quota place for India.

Kumkum Anil Mohod defeated South Korea's Oh Yejin 6–5 in a shoot-off to win the Asian Games recurve women's individual title in Okazaki. World Archery confirmed that the 17-year-old became India's first champion in the event and secured a women's recurve quota place for India at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Mohod entered the final day as the ninth qualifier, beat world champion Kang Chaeyoung 6–4 and China's Zhu Jingyi 6–2, then recovered from 3–5 down in the gold-medal match. She shot X, X and 10 in the fifth set to force the tie-break and then landed an X against Oh's eight to decide the final.
The Indian Express independently reported the 6–5 final and the Olympic quota consequence. The individual title followed Mohod's role in India's first Asian Games recurve women's team gold a day earlier, giving her two gold medals and one mixed-team silver on her Games debut; the quota belongs to India's National Olympic Committee rather than automatically to a named athlete.
