The Olympic Council of Asia named China's Yu Zidi and Thailand's Puripol Boonson as the female and male most valuable players of the 20th Asian Games in Aichi and Nagoya on 4 October. The organising committee separately confirmed the awards during the closing-day programme.

Yu, 13, won the women's 200m butterfly, 200m individual medley and 400m individual medley. The OCA credited her with three Games records, including a 2:06.10 Asian record in the 200m individual medley.

Boonson completed the men's 100m–200m sprint double. His 9.90-second 100m and 19.88-second 200m were Asian Games records, with the 200m time also equalling the Asian record; he also earned silver in the mixed 4x100m relay. Each MVP receives an OCA prize of US$25,000.
